The same loads using blc2 were even smaller so I stopped using cfe. Seems CFE gives fair speed, but never really gave me cloverleaf groups. All seated at 2.260" in my AR15 build. 28g cfe, 35g berger, 3648 fps, .667" 28g cfe, 34g dogtown, 3665 fps 27.5g cfe, 34g dogtown, 3626 fps 28g cfe, 32g vmax, 3738 fps, .967" 27.5g cfe, 32g nbt, 3633 fps, .800"

As the 5.56 has a longer throat and higher CUP, where is the data to match a 5.56 Nato round like ones from Lake City, Radway Green, and others? I can understand why the reloading manuals wont post data as some might load 223 to 5.56 data and have problems with shooting it in a 223 chamber.
    • This caliber might actually lead to me reloading at some point. I will be picking up a Yugo SKS and five Tapco 20 round mags any day now. It was fairly cheap and I like the 7.62x39 round but won't hunt like my CZ527 and its not as mean as my SLR-101 so it may be a project gun or just a plinker.

  • Jun 20, 2018 · The GI M4 carbine twist rate is 1:7 to stabilize the 62-gr M855/SS109 round. 1:7 will effectively stabilize even 75 and 77 grain bullets and most 80 grain bullets. Once we hit the 90-gr and above realm, we’re now looking at barrels that will need 1:6 to stabilize (especially with slower moving subsonic bullets).

    • Overall lengths for my loads with the M855 62 fmj's are from 2.250-2.260" and I use RP 7 1/2 primers in my loads. Shooting the M855 62 fmj's in a 20" 1/7 AR using H335 powder I started at 24 grains of H335 and it shows high 2800's to low 2900's fps and at 24.6 grains of H335 it gets 3033 to 3040 fps in my rifle using RP 7 1/2 and RP and WCC cases.
